Fairways like carpet... greens like pool tables... bunkers like tropical island beaches... and rough like steel wool.

The Woodmere Club course is one of the premiere locations for golf in the Metropolitan area. The championship tees, well-placed bunkers, water hazards, high rough and slick greens present an excellent challenge for the low handicap golfer. Yet, the variety of other tees make Woodmere a very user friendly course for the average to high handicap player. And speaking of friendly, Woodmere is a great place to make new friends, pick up a game, or create your own foursome.

Water, bunkers and trees come into play on almost every hole of the par-70 course which was redesigned by Robert Trent Jones in the 1950's. We are proud of our Head Pro, Jeff Cowell. He, along with his teaching staff, understand the teaching aspects of the game. Woodmere has a long tradition of teaching professionals. It's recently retired pro emeritus, Joe Moresco, holds the course record 64 and is a former MET PGA Teacher of the Year, Past President of the MGA, and Vice President of the PGA of America. Joe has been at Woodmere for 40 years and we are proud of his election to the Metropolitan PGA Hall of Fame.

Private instruction, group lessons, clinics and a Junior Golf Program are available from our teaching pros. We have full practice facilities including a driving range, practice bunkers and a putting green.

We have an exciting tournament schedule that provides ample opportunities for men, women, and juniors to enjoy a little friendly competition. Our golfers can use carts and/or caddies, and members are provided with club storage and complete and luxurious locker room facilities in the elegant new clubhouse. The pro shop provides an outstanding selection of top-of-the-line equipment and clothing.

Whether you're looking for an individual membership - a place to entertain friends and clients - or golf for the family, you need look no further than The Woodmere Club, a true showcase on Long Island's South Shore.
