The Woodmere Club has been attracting city-dwellers and local residents alike, with it's superb amenities and gracious service for more than eighty years. Located only a short drive from New York City in peaceful Woodmere, Long Island, The Woodmere Club provides it's members and guests with unparalleled facilities for rest and relaxation. From the comforts available in the newly-renovated club house to it's championship golf course, Har-Tru tennis courts and Olympic-size pool The Woodmere Club offers something for every member of the family. Golf has been played at Woodmere since 1913. The championship 18-hole, par 70 course was redesigned in 1954 by Robert Trent Jones with his signature elongated tees. The water, old trees and secluded setting all help make the course a joy to play. Woodmere's golf professional, Jeff Cowell is an excellent teacher and a member of the Metropolitan PGA, and our Greens Superintendent, Tim Benedict, has supervised a major golf course renovation. The Woodmere Club was proud to recently host the MGA Long Island Centennial Sectional Qualifying for men and women on Long Island. |
For tennis enthusiasts, Woodmere has nine professionally maintained Har-Tru courts, and private instruction is available from our nationally-known pro, Dan Dwyer, or one of his qualified staff. There are leagues available for men, women, and children in addition to several organized tournaments throughout the season. Among the club's other focal points are the Olympic-size, above-ground swimming pool, the kiddy pool and the playground. Certified lifeguards are on duty throughout the season. Also located near the pool is the outdoor, picnic style snack bar, a favorite summer gathering spot. Woodmere Club members enjoy an easy yet elegant club life. The newly renovated clubhouse has a large dining room, spacious sun-filled grill room, fully equipped locker facilities, gym and 19th hole. For the boating enthusiast, docking privileges are available, as are water skiing, jet skiing, fishing and other water sports. The club house and all facilities are available for private parties, business and charity events. The ambiance and high standards of The Woodmere Club make it an ideal home away from home for the entire family. |
